Office Max Honors Teachers

Ruth Merrill

Three Granite School District teachers received an award along with $1,000 in school supplies on October 6. Officials from Office Max and the national Adopt-A-Classroom Affiliation surprised  Ruth Merrill at West Lake Junior High School. They were among 1,000 selected nationwide who were nominated by their principals for the A Day Made Better program.

The classroom gift included a digital camera, printer, swivel chair and a large box of essential classroom supplies. All teachers at their schools received coupons for classroom supplies.

Ruth Merrill teaches family and consumer science and French at West Lake. She is the lead Community of Caring teacher and mentors the peer leadership team and fellow teachers. She always models good citizenship for all students.
